We
are thrilled to welcome all partners in Sofia, Bulgaria, for the first transnational project meeting of LeadHER: Teaching Framework for Boosting ICT Literacy and Jobs for Girls in Basic and Secondary Education!

LeadHER is more than a project — it’s a mission to bridge the gender gap in ICT by reshaping how we educate and empower girls across Europe. Over the next two school years, partners from Bulgaria, Portugal, Spain, and Finland will work together to ensure that girls are not just included but inspired and encouraged to pursue careers in tech.

Why LeadHER?
Because girls belong in ICT. Because gender stereotypes still limit potential. Because our future needs more inclusive innovation.

Through LeadHER, we will:

Develop and pilot the LeadHER ICT Gender Balance Teaching Framework.

Introduce structured mentoring schemes linking girls with female role models in ICT.

Equip teachers with a Toolbox to create inclusive, motivating classroom environments.

Engage families and communities to amplify support for girls' interests in ICT.

Deliver high-impact outputs including a Global Research Report, policy recommendations, and scalable teaching resources.
Today’s meeting, hosted at 93rd Secondary School “Alexander Teodorov - Balan”, brings together experts from:

INOVA+ (Portugal)

AGRUPAMENTO DE ESCOLAS JOSE ESTEVAO (Portugal)

Basque International Research Association (Spain)

FUNDACION CANONICA AUTONOMA MARCELO GANGOITI (Spain)

Know and Can Ltd. (Bulgaria)

HAAGA-HELIA University of Applied Sciences (Finland)

UMAR – União de Mulheres Alternativa e Resposta (Portugal)

MINISTERIO DA EDUCACAO E CIENCIA (Portugal, Associated Partner)

Over two intensive days (May 28–29), we’re diving deep into:

Needs assessment across partner countries

Framework design and pilot strategies

Gender-sensitive communication and awareness

Risk management, quality assurance, and project coordination
This is just the beginning — a powerful first step in a shared journey to LeadHER into a more equal digital future. Stay tuned as we shape a new chapter for girls in ICT across Europe!
